Benjamin King joined the GICHD in September 2020 as a Project Manager within the Ammunition Management Advisory Team (AMAT). Benjamin leads the development of the Arms and Ammunition Management Validation System (AAMVS), a multi-year project established from the European Union Council Decision (CFSP 2020/979) that seeks to establish an internally recognized system for validating national arms and ammunition management practices against the established international best practice guidelines.
Prior to joining GICHD, Benjamin spent over eleven years working in the field of arms and ammunition control. From 2010 to 2019, he was a researcher and project manager at the Small Arms Survey, where he conducted new research and assessments, and supported national efforts to implement arms control measures. Most recently, Benjamin worked as an independent arms control consultant with numerous clients in Europe and the Middle East.
Benjamin earned a master’s degree in international policy studies from the Monterey Institute of International Studies.
