Peacetrees Vietnam is the first NGO licensed in Vietnam to survey and clear the explosive remnants of the War. The organization began its operation in 1995 in Quang Tri province, the most heavily bombarded battlefield during the Vietnam war. Peacetrees Vietnam's work has grown from an enduring commitment to build friendship and understanding between Vietnamese and American citizens and a desire to support sustainable future for the community that is continued to be impacted by the war. Peacetrees Vietnam is currently conducting humanitarian demining, explosive ordnance risk education, victim assistance and other forms of development support in the two middle-region of Vietnam, which are Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces
