This study by the Gender and Mine Action Programme of the Swiss Campaign to Ban Landmines is the first comprehensive study presenting arguments on the importance of gender considerations in mine action and looking at how gender was mainstreamed in the mine action sector in 2008. It is the result of consultations with more than 60 organisations in five different countries (Colombia, Lebanon, Mozambique, Sri Lanka, Sudan).
