This book was published on the anniversary of the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining's 20th anniversary. In 1997, at the adoption of the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention (APMBC), Switzerland announced its intention to create a Centre of technical expertise and training in humanitarian demining, which would help implement the APMBC and bring greater professionalism to the sector.

This book highlights the Centre's achievements since its founding, accompanied by pictures and quotes from GICHD staff over two decades.
