Maria Duran joined the GICHD in May 2019. As Talent Acquisition Partner, she leads, implements and coordinates the complete recruitment life cycle and partners with line managers to understand recruitment/resourcing needs, develop sourcing pools and establish interviewing criteria to ensure good practice is carried out throughout the process. She is responsible for the ATS platform, securing compliant management of candidate data and recruitment records and is focal point for applicants and prospective hires, ensuring that all selection activities support inclusive, gender balance and diversity objectives of the centre.

Prior to joining the GICHD, Maria Duran held various HR Manager/HR Partner roles in Geneva-based international shipping and trading firms, where she developed broad expertise in Swiss labour law, international mobility, talent acquisition and employee relations. She initially studied Education & Sociology before transitioning into Management & Human Resources. Originally from Colombia, she was raised in the Middle East and France, then settled permanently in Switzerland.
