Standards and Operations
Stephen Robinson joined Standards and Operations Division in December 2021. He is currently employed as the Programme Manager of the Operations Management (OM) programme. In this capacity Stephen will be coordinating the activities of the OM tea in addressing issues ranging from addressing the challenges posed by managing residual EO contamination to mine action management training.
Prior to joining GICHD, Stephen Robinson worked in the humanitarian and development world for over 20 years. The majority of this time was in the mine action sector, predominantly with the UN, both in UNMAS and UNDP. In UNMAS he worked as a senior programme manager in contexts from Nepal to South Sudan. Most lately Stephen Robinson worked for UNDP in Yemen where he was the senior technical adviser to the internationally recognised government, where he was instrumental in the establishment of the mine action coordination centre.
Stephen Robinson has also worked in the wider humanitarian field, for example deploying to The Philippines as part of the surge effort in response to Typhoon Haiyan.
Stephen Robinson has a master’s degree in Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid from the Kalu Institute of Spain, and post graduate qualifications in education from the University of Wales.
