Virginia Fuentes Itarte joined GICHD in March 2023. As Head of People and Culture she is responsible for direct management of the Archives & Innovation, Conferences and People’s Team.

Virginia Fuentes Itarte earned her BA in Human Resources from UAB in 2003, and later obtained an MA in Human Resources, along with a Postgraduate degree in European Studies and Human Rights. She has an extensive work experience of over 15 years in HR Policy Development, Compensation, Benefits, Employment Law, Recruitment, Learning and Development, and Strategic Organisational Development, having collaborated with diverse multidisciplinary teams across the globe in non-profit organizations and companies. Her work experience spans across seven different countries including Spain, the Netherlands, UK, Guatemala, Brazil, USA, and Switzerland.
