The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental, non-profit organziation founded in 1956 that works in more than 30 countries throughout the world. DRC globally fulfills its mandate by providing durable solutions to conflict-affected populations around the world, and by advocating on behalf of refugees, internally displaced populations and host communities. We define “durable solutions” as the means by which the situation of refugees can be permanently enhanced, enabling them to live dignified lives. Durable solutions can be voluntary repatriation, local integration, or resettlement. DRC provides assistance in an impartial, inclusive and neutral manner, on the basis of humanitarian principles and the Human Rights Declaration, and adhering to the Code of Conduct of the Red Cross and Red Crescent societies.
