
Strategies, Performance and Impact
Nadine Lainer joined the GICHD in July 2024 as Advisor for Country Programmes. She supports the Ukraine Country Programme with strategic planning, impact assessments and technical trainings for national mine action authorities and other stakeholders. She also works with a variety of other explosive ordnance-affected and donor countries on developing, implementing and reviewing their mine action strategies.
Nadine has worked in humanitarian mine action since 2019. Trained in mine clearance operational management and IMAS Level 3 Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) certified, she has held various technical and programme management roles with The HALO Trust in Libya, Sri Lanka and Ukraine. Pre-mine action, Nadine was a research consultant based in Hargeisa, Somaliland. Working with a host of international NGOs, she implemented monitoring and evaluation projects and conducted field research on conflict, security and stabilisation in the Horn of Africa.
Nadine holds an MA in International Affairs with a focus on conflict and security studies from The New School, New York, and a bachelor’s degree in Socio-Economics from Vienna University of Economics and Business in Austria.
