Inclusive Risk Reduction

Inès Bourqui works as a Gender and Diversity Programme Officer. Her role is to provide support on gender and diversity mainstreaming in capacity development, technical assistance, and research projects and activities.

Inès joined the GICHD in January 2021 as a Junior Programme Officer with the Gender and Mine Action Programme (GMAP). She was supporting GMAP’s Gender and Diversity and Explosive Ordnance Risk Education teams in project cycle management and research projects, assisting in preparation of workshops and conferences, and contributing to the preparation of policy guidelines, toolkits, training material and case studies.

Prior to joining the GICHD, Inès completed several internships, such as at the United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS) in Nairobi and at the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF) in Geneva.

Inès holds a Master’s degree in African Studies with a specialisation in “States, Societies and Development” from the University of Geneva and a Bachelor’s degree in Modern Languages (English and Spanish) applied to Economic and Law from the University of Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris 3.
