Ángela Hoyos joined the GICHD in June 2019 as an External Relations and Policy Advisor. Her main responsibilities include furthering and disseminating GICHD policy work and providing advice and training to both the GICHD and its partners on policy-related topics, particularly on the links between mine action, peace, security and development.

Ángela Hoyos previously worked with the United Nations Regional Centre for Peace, Disarmament and Development in Latin America and the Caribbean (UNLIREC) as a Legal Officer and Advisor for the Non-Proliferation and Arms Control Programme. Prior to this position, she worked as public policy analyst and lawyer for governmental institutions in Spain.

Ángela Hoyos’ academic background includes a MAS in International and European Security from the University of Geneva, Switzerland, and BAs in Law and Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Valencia, Spain.
